‘The West Highland Way – Scotland 2021’

The West Highland Way is apparently one of the most beautiful long-distance walking trails in the world – 94 miles (151km) of Scottish moor and mountain!

Two days ago we completed a 96 mile trek which begins in Milngavie and finishes at Fort William in the Scottish Highlands.

It was a week full of magical and stunning variety of landscapes, green hillsides, peaceful woodlands, the Conic Hill, Ben Lomond, wild, tangly and rocky shorelines of Loch Lomond, the Devil’s Staircase, and of course the Britain’s highest mountain- The mighty Ben Nevis!

It was a week full of challenges, happiness, laughter, frustrations, tensions, fatigue, unexpected situations, strained muscles, blisters, sun, rain and wind. But in the end, a great sense of achievement … for many it might be a personal battle, for me it was almost like a meditation! I totally loved every minute of this walk!

Definitely this was a truly magnificent route, my favourite parts – day 3 Sallochy to Inverarnan and day 7 Kinlochleven to Fort William.

Scotland see you again hopefully soon … next time Ben Nevis and The Great Glen Way!
